A regular player would simply make a new account, and play undetected, but that's very likely not possible for a streamer. It's worth considering that a lifetime ban, really does mean life for someone like Jarvis. In any case, I think there's a better balance to be struck that would allow Epic to punish first time offenders severely, without banning someone for life. I think it's that disconnection between moral, and societal implications of an individuals behavior that often underpin the differences in perspectives in regards to what is, or isn't a fitting punishment. In the same way that certain crimes receive harsh penalties so as to serve as a deterrent, Epic protect their interest and keep their game healthy by punishing players harshly whose behavior were likely to have severe consequences if mimicked by others. Only to suggest that sometimes, the punishment for a crime does not appear to fit the moral implication.

I don't think I was ever trying to equate those two things.

If you told me the guy killed someone while driving drunk or something like that I can understand if people want to dunk on him, but he only cheated on a video game. I just can't imagine how I would feel if I did something stupid at my job and got fired and also got millions of people online shitting on me for a laugh. But things don't just end in him being banned, people on youtube, here and all over the internet are all chomping at the beat to make an sneer comment about this guy saying "fuck you, got what you deserved". He did a really stupid thing and it's something that most likely is going to radically affect his life. Yes, he should've know that doing that he would get banned and I think that him getting banned for a 6 month period for the game and maybe a couple of years ban on playing on tournaments would have been fine.Įven if you're a legal adult at 18, getting to that age doesn't magically make you wise or mature.

One can speculate that Kaye knew what he was doing would get him banned, just that he hoped it would only be on his alternate account, not a full hardware ban covering all of his current and future accounts.Age IS part of the issue, but not all of it. Very cool method wanted to share it If this video helped you please consider subscribing to the channel Follow me on twitch to catch me live on stream: htt. Kaye says “Never use aimbot…you are going to get banned, I am 100% going to get banned on this account”. Investigations have to take place and the dev team plan on making this as comprehensive as. This contradicts statements he made in the original video while he was cheating. Dont worry though - no ones going to get banned just from a report.

He says “It didn't even cross my mind to think that I could be banned for life on Fortnite for those videos”. In his apology video, Kaye is visibly in tears. The easiest way of telling if an opponent is using an aimbot is by spectating them after you’ve been eliminated and watching for any unnatural movements. The tricky part is, the CronusMax is undetectable, so.

Its still quite likely he is only sorry he got caught. Using controller mods like the CronusMax can get you banned if you are reported, especially in Fortnite. It is hard to tell if Kaye is truly sorry for his actions. I love all of you who still support me, this is not the end. I’m going to take accountability for my actions and I understand completely why this has happened, I just wish I had known how severe the consequences were at the time and I would have never thought about doing it. Weber went on to write “not only did Jarvis use an actual hacked client, but he also recorded it and posted it to his young, impressionable fans.” What Does Kaye Have to Say About All This? Colluding (which is what Ronaldo and XXiF were banned for) violates the tournament rules, not the EULA. Why was the time difference in these two sets of bans so drastic when both involved cheating? Fortnite pro, Jonathan “Yung Calculator” Weber explained on Twitter, “hacking breaks the EULA and TOS. They also had the chance to compete for the $3M USD prize pool. Here, they qualified two weeks later and netted themselves $50K USD each. They (Hammerpoint) barely ban people for using ESP, you dont have to worry much. If youre not that obvious cheater, then youll be fine. This allowed them to go right back to competing in the World Cup. The only thing you should avoid, is running for an item that has spawed like 300m away from you. Despite this being the qualifiers for a major competitive tournament, Cook and Mach received only two-week bans.

Cook and Mach colluded with other players to gain free kills and boost their point total. After an investigation, Epic discovered that Damion “XXiF” Cook and Ronald “Ronaldo” Mach were cheating in the World Cup Qualifiers.
